Does Your Shoulder Hurt Because You're at Work All Day? Here’s What We Should Do

If you’re like me, long hours at a desk or working in a fixed position can leave your shoulders feeling tight and sore. But don’t worry—this can be fixed with a few simple changes to your daily routine. Here's what you should be doing to relieve that pain:

  1. Stretching: We often neglect shoulder mobility during the workday, but stretching can make a huge difference. I recommend doing shoulder rolls, neck stretches, and doorway chest stretches to loosen up the area.
  2. Strengthening: Weak upper back muscles can cause the shoulders to compensate, leading to pain. Incorporating exercises like rows, reverse flies, and lateral raises can help build strength and prevent discomfort.
  3. Posture Check: Bad posture while sitting can exacerbate shoulder pain. Try adjusting your workstation to ensure your screen is at eye level, your shoulders are relaxed, and your back is supported.
  4. Regular Breaks: Sitting for long periods is one of the biggest culprits behind shoulder pain. I take a break every hour to stand, stretch, and reset my posture.

By making small adjustments to your daily routine, you can reduce that nagging shoulder pain. Let's keep our bodies in balance and ready to take on the next challenge!
